Abby Phillips’ Biography

The CNN White House Correspondent was born Abigail Daniella Phillip was adopted into the family of Carlos W. Phillip and June C. Phillip on November 25, 1988 in Bowie, Maryland, United States. Her father is associated with the District of Columbia public schools and serves as their psychology program manager. Her mother, on the other hand, is interested in real estate investments. Phillips grew up in Bowie, Maryland and has two sisters, Ann-Marie and Asha.

Information regarding Abby Phillips’ basic education has not been released to the public. However, it is known that she attended Harvard University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government.

At first, the gorgeous reporter wanted to chase after a career in the medical field as she had a desire to become a cardiac surgeon. She had a different opinion after completing an assignment that included writing a blog about her experiences while on a duty trip to Mississippi. After that, Phillip decided to pursue a career in journalism.

Abby Phillips first journalistic streak was during her internship at ABC7 News. Shortly after her internship at the television network, the skilled journalist was recruited by Politico and served as a political reporter along with White House reports. During her time at the news agency, she covered various topics in the fields of health legislation, foreign policy, political strategy and education policy.

She later took up full-time employment at WJLA, which lasted from 2012 to 2014. While working, she was still collaborating on a few ABC7 news programs such as Nightline, This Week With George Stephanopoulos and her website.

After her stint at WJLA, Phillip began working for The Washington Post in 2014. She started out as a writer but rose to become a political reporter, covering many local and international stories including the San Bernardino massacre and the Charleston shooting Church reported excellently. In 2016, Abby Phillip was hired to cover Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and since the inauguration of current US President Donald Trump in January 2017, the reporter’s primary focus has been on his Administration Care Act.

Abby Phillip first met her husband, Marcus GlennRichardson, at a friend’s party in 2011 in Washington. The two began dating shortly after, and exchanged vows on May 26, 2018 at the Anderson House in Washington. Richardson works as a Managing Consultant at a web and mobile app security company called nVisium in Herndon. He is a graduate of Florida State University and the son of Col. Russell G. Richardson and Toussaint Richardson.
